The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established on the eve of Ethio-ltalian war, on July, 8, 1935 and signed the Geneva Convention on July 25 of the same year and became 48th member of League of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies on 25, September 1935. Since then the Society have engaged on providing Humanitarian services & community-based development initiatives.
Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 32 Zonal Branches and 112 District/Woreda Branches and 3673 grass root committees/Kebele Red Cross Committees.
1. Job Title: Program Management Specialist
Job Summary: -The purpose of project coordinator is to strengthen the capacity of and support ERCS project teams in PCM: action planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. Based on in the Disaster Risk Reduction Department, the PM Specialist is an experienced technical expert working on a contractual basis as s staff of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, with frequent visits to the project areas of the projects in Moyale and Gamella in consultation and collaboration with the Project coordinator and program coordinators.
Qualification Requirements:-MA/ BA in Program Management and 6/10 Years of related Experience respectively.

2. Job Title: Climate Change Program Officer
Job Summary:
- Provide technical expertise for the design, execution and MEL of these programs and others running under the DRR department with a priority focus on the Partners’ for Resilience Programs; Responsible for collecting, compiling, analysing and sharing climate-related frameworks, policies, programs, and forums from global level, regional and national level and update DRR program staff
- With the knowledge and guidance of the DRR Department head liaise with relevant PfR two partners, government ministries, offices and civil society organizations to learn what is happening (who is doing what) and enhance the visibility of ERCS
- Identifying innovative climate change solutions from different sources (research, universities, government, civil societies, private sectors) and share it with the DRR program staff
- Regularly collect information on climate change trends at the local level and how it is affecting target communities and share it to the DRRD staff, ERCS regional program staff and partners as necessary Identify, document and share best climate change mitigation and adaption practices.
- Contribute for the climate part in the holistic resilience building processes of ERCS
- Contribute towards ERCS’s climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies and approaches
- Keep abreast with the climate change discussions and developments within Red Cross movement and share it with ERCS program staff
- Serve as a primary resource person for early warning /early action within ERCS
- Regularly collect, analyse and share weather forecast and climate information to ERCS staffs
- In consultation with the DRRD head, share facts and information to other program staff of ERCS including those working at regional level.
- Collect/document traditional ecological knowledge especially in regard to climate change and local adaptation practices to feed into program design and improve implementation of new and existing projects and programs.
- Collect regular/ seasonal and special climate and related information, alerts and alarms released by international and national agencies and networks and timely share them with DRRD and ERCS at large.
- Lobby and advocacy
- Do climate policy, strategy and programming analysis, donors landscaping (related with climate change) and share the information for internal (DRRD-ERCS) and as need be external utilization Collect, document and share objective climate related evidences to influence policies and practices particularly at the local level
- In consultation with the DRR head closely work with Ministry of Environment, Meteorological Offices, Disaster Risk Management offices to enhance programming/implementation of policies and strategies
- Networking with like-minded stakeholders to promote climate agendas in-line with IRM project
- Capacity Building and technical support
- Assesses the capacity of ERCS staff with regards to Climate Change, develop capacity building plan and implement Plan, organize and facilitate quality climate related trainings for ERCS
- Provide regular field-based and remote technical support for ERCS on climate mitigation and adaptation measures
- And
- Others as assigned by supervisor.
Qualification Requirements:-MA in Climate Change/Climate Science, Metrology, Geography or other related field with 6 years relevant experience out of which 3 years in Resilience climate Change early warning.

3. Job Title: Disaster Risk Reduction Program Officer
Qualification Requirements:-MA in Disaster Risk Reduction, Development, Agricultural Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, Rural Development, Regional Development & other related field with 8 years relevant experience

4. Job Title: Facilities Officer
